The Central Minnesota Heart Center at St. Cloud Hospital now has the need to add a third Physician Assistant to its cardiac surgery program. This program has been awarded a three-star (highest) rating from the society of thoracic surgeons for three consecutive years (2007-2009). Your expertise will be critical to this program because of our high standards for patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes.
As a Physician Assistant, you will work closely with our two highly skilled cardiac surgeons in performing pre-operative evaluations, first assisting including harvesting conduit, post-op management in ICU and Telemetry, discharge planning, follow-up clinic visits, and patient phone calls. This includes all aspects of PA roles in caring for our patients, i.e. H&P’s, ordering labs, imaging, consults, RX, etc.
The position is full-time, primarily day hours with call every third day/weekend. Experience in Cardiovascular Surgery would be preferred but will consider training a qualified candidate.
The Central Minnesota Heart Center contains six of Minnesota’s busiest cath labs, a research program and a nationally renowned electrophysiology program that draws patients from across the Midwest. We promote heart disease education through our Women @ Heart Project and Holistic Services.
