We have a very active ID practice in Minneapolis, Minnesota (Twin Cities). We are the only ID practice at a 400-bed hospital with 7 helicopters and the highest volume Emergency Dept in the state. The practice currently has an active Phase II-IV research program , does the Hospital Epidemiology, has an office-based IV therapy program, and provides the ID inpatient consultation. The office practice includes ID consultation and follow up visits with some Internal Medicine primary practice, ID consultation and HIV patients. The candidate should be interested in Hospital-Based practice which includes seeing new consultations and making rounds on all hospitalized patients. The PA will be taught PICC line placement and will also be trained in the conduction of clinical research studies. This practice currently has 2 PA-C’s who provide excellent Infectious Disease care. We are looking to expand as our research center is growing which requires the focus of one of our PA’s. My working relationship with the PA-C’s has been wonderful and they will tell you they have found the practice rewarding and intellectually stimulating. The environment is very collaborative and focused on providing excellent patient care. I am an AOA MD, board certified ID Specialist, described the first cases of TSS in Women, and the first case of Lyme Disease in MN. I have been Chief of Staff and currently am Chairman of P&T as well as Hospital Epidemiology. I need a physician assistant who would like a challenge and a well paid position with the freedom to grow intellectually. Please respond to cgschrock@id-mpls.com or national beeper 1-800-208-7721.
