MAPA Volunteer Opportunities
Committee Leaders Needed:
Student Relations Committee: A vice-chair for the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse, Gundersen, Mayo PA Program is needed. This person serves as a liaison between the chapter and the program, in conjunction with the identified student liaison from each class. An open forum is conducted annually on the LaCrosse campus, and an annual picnic is held in Rochester. Please contact Clover Schultz for more information.
Committee Volunteers Needed:
All of the following committees would welcome additional volunteers: CME, Corporate Affairs, Legislative & Reimbursement, Membership, Newsletter Editing Team Members, Public & Professional Relations, and Web site. If you are unable to volunteer on an ongoing basis, we would still welcome your participation for short-term projects to suit your schedule.
Special Projects:
Diversity: Both AAPA and MAPA are committed to expanded efforts to meet the challenge of the diversity we encounter in our profession, our patients, and our communities. The board continues to discuss how we should address this issue, and your participation or suggestions are welcome. Please contact the President.
If you wish to volunteer for any of these positions, or wish to volunteer your services in some other capacity, then contact the President.
Looking for a way to get involved?
MAPA's Scholarship Committee can always use people to help on the committee. The time commitment is as little or as much as you want it to be, but it is never overwhelming. I can always find a way for you to help, whether it be a small task or large, or even just sharing your ideas. Our committee is a good way to give back to MAPA, and it's always fulfilling helping future PAs continue in their studies. We do a lot of fundraising, and we distribute, collect, then go over all the applications to determine the award winners each year. If you want to contribute, please contact the Scholarship Committee, Thanks!!
